Non-Confrontation, Mutual Respect, and Partnership
What are we?
The Vaden Student Health Advisory Committee is a collection of Stanford students (undergrad and graduate) who advocate for affordability, accessibility, and equity amongst Stanford’s campus health resources. We meet with Vaden administration on a monthly basis to review the biggest issues that Stanford students are facing in regards to their healthcare, and we advocate for student health through other avenues such as Associated Students of Stanford University (ASSU), Aetna Student Health, and Stanford administration like the President/Provost’s offices. If you have a healthcare question, concern, or inquiry, this is the right place to be.
You must first submit an event and have it approved. Then submit your Eventbrite request (click the above links to submit the form). Once your event has been approved, please allow 3-5 business days for the Eventbrite request to be reviewed and approved by SSE.
You will typically receive your money within 10 business days of your event ending, but if that’s too long, SSE offers a loan program. You can contact the SSE Eventbrite Manager at eventbrite-manager@sse.stanford.edu for more information regarding the loan program.
You have most control over your event. You can set your ticket prices, change your content, refund orders, give away free tickets; provided you follow university policy and guidelines for events.
Usually, people will print their tickets at home or use the free Eventbrite app to show you their ticket at the door. You can use the Eventbrite Event Manager app to check in each ticket on a smartphone or tablet. If you would like to consider using Eventbrite card readers, please contact OSE at studentengagement@stanford.edu with that request.
Your group’s Financial Officer or President can find the 4-digit group number when they login to GrantEd. You can find it by clicking on the “My Roles” tab to the left of your SUNet tab in the upper right hand corner as soon as you login.
Eventbrite will report any money collected from an event to the IRS using whatever Social Security number is associated with the account. To prevent event planners from paying personal taxes on the proceeds from events registered with personal information, ASSU/SSE uses its own tax ID. You also will receive discounted pricing by using this service.
No, you will have to change your email in your existing account to a non-Stanford email address before we can proceed to set up Eventbrite access for your Stanford related event.
Eventbrite has an excellent help portal, and we have dedicated support staff from Eventbrite who can help you set up complicated, high-profile, or particularly large events. Contact SSE Eventbrite Manager if you have any questions or if you’re wondering how Eventbrite can work for you.
Contact the SSE Eventbrite Manager at eventbrite-manager@sse.stanford.edu with any questions.
Our Team
Joy Molloy (she/her) is a Human Biology major and a part of the class of 2025. She just finished her second term on the ASSU Undergraduate Senate, where she served as Deputy Chair. Joy has been working to help create the VSHAC since spring quarter of last school year and her motivation for getting involved was hearing about the various concerns students on campus had about healthcare. Moving forward, Joy hopes that Stanford student leaders can continue to create an open form of communication between the student body and Vaden administration.
Perry Nielsen Jr (he/him) is a second year masters student studying health policy and recently served as the 23-24 ASSU Exec Cabinet Director for Grad Student Affairs. He has a history of student advocacy, clinical informatics, & policy analysis and helped cofound the VSHAC with Joy and Liz during the Summer of 2023. He hopes through the VSHAC to educate Stanford Students on Vaden’s resources and drive them to high-value, low cost care to help curb the ballooning costs of Stanford’s student health insurance.
Liz Park (she/her) is a fourth year PhD candidate in chemistry and ChEM-H CBI Fellow interested in neuroscience and chemical biology. She recently served as co-chair of the ASSU Graduate Student Council (GSC), where she helped create the VSHAC and address various aspects of student affordability on campus. She hopes to continue addressing affordability issues (especially for unfunded, masters, and professional students) through healthcare advocacy.
