Funding: Graduate VSO Grants

About Us

GSC offers grant funding to graduate VSOs in order to:

  • Provide a broader educational and cultural experience for graduate students
  • Enhance interdepartmental social interaction among students
  • Strengthen the campus-wide sense of community among graduate students
  • Make the graduate school experience more valuable and enjoyable for all graduate students

If you have any questions about the funding process, please email the GSC Funding Committee at

How to

  1.         Submit a funding application on GrantEd. Remember to choose ‘Graduate Student Council’ as your source of funding.
    • Add your event onto the GSC Funding Calendar.
    • Create an event on any email-based calendar and send an invite to us
    • The event should include a Date, Time, Location, short details blurb, and RSVP link (if applicable)
    • The submitting FO will receive funding request updates via email.
    • Contact us if you have not been contacted in over 1 week of submitting your funding request on GrantEd
    • For requests more than $1000, attend the GSC meeting on the Tuesday night following email confirmation that your funding request will be voted upon.
    • GSC Meetings are held on Tuesdays 6:30PM-8PM in EVGR B170.
    • Each VSO request will be reviewed, questioned, and voted on.

Funding requests will not be voted on unless submitted by Sunday 5pm before that week's GSC meeting.

VSOs must go through the standard process of requesting funding from the GSC Funding Committee, so that the Funding Committee's recommendation can be presented to the GSC in a timely manner. The GSC does not provide retroactive funding. The GSC is not responsible for any purchases made before funding is approved or for an event in which funding was not approved.

Please submit your funding request according to the below timelines to allow for sufficient time for (1) the GSC Funding Committee to review funding requests and work with financial officers to ensure funding requests are within guidelines, and (2) for the GSC to review and vote on funding requests. Funding requests must be submitted by Sunday 5pm to be voted on for that week's GSC meeting. Funding requests that are submitted outside of the below timelines are NOT guaranteed to be considered in time. Plan accordingly when preparing your funding requests.
